The city, in a minute
New York Minute Show was born from a complaint every New Yorker has made: nobody covers this city the way we actually live it. Metro dailies write for the region, national shows mention us only in crisis, and the podcasts that claim local usually mean Manhattan above Houston. We built an audio newsroom on the opposite premise — that New York is best reported at street level, in the time you have between the subway platform and the office turnstile.
What we publish
The flagship is the daily one-minute broadcast: the five stories that changed the city today, written tight and read straight, no chit-chat. Around it sit the long-form episodes — politics from the council chamber to Albany, culture from warehouse galleries to Broadway loading docks, sports, transit, housing, and the street-corner conversations that make the boroughs different planets of the same universe. Segments run in English and Spanish, recorded where the story happens rather than assumed from a desk.
How we operate
The newsroom is independent and reader-supported: no programmatic ad inventory, every sponsor spot host-read and disclosed, and editorial decisions made by editors, not advertisers. Studio recordings happen before small invite-only live audiences, because a city that talks to itself should hear itself. Corrections run on air, not in footnotes.
